Episcopal Day School Reviews

My daughter is a rising 5th grader at EDS. She has been here since preschool. EDS provides a challenging, nurturing, and spiritually uplifting environment for my daughter. From day one, EDS has taught her that there are no limits to what she can do, and she has responded accordingly. Excellence at its best!

Old postings...old news. EDS preschool and lower school are great. The middle school has been in decline for years. Ask about teacher retention, and do your homework before handing over the tuition. No comparison to Augusta Prep for the money. Look into what degree the teachers hold that teach middle school classes, and check out national test scores compared to private school students, not compared to public school students. Ask how many days a week the kids have physical education class and about computer classes. Ask the hard questions before you choose EDS middle school.

My daughter is in 4th grade and is doing so well. It is no piece of cake, but her teachers are so great at showing how to do her best and rise to the occasion. EDS has a great sense of balance - the academics are high, but the family atmosphere is very loving. They have a tremendous sports programs, but art and music are offered as well. The religious life of the school has undoubtably made my daughter a kinder person and a citizen of the world. She understands that there are other less fortunate people around, and EDS reminds her that it is her duty to help others as best as she can. I would never, ever have my daughter anywhere else.

My son has been at EDS since pre-pre school ( 3 years) and he has matured into a very intelligent, kind, & thoughtful young man. The classes offered to teach our children to be the type of individuals we all strive to be on a daily basis are vast and consist of computers, Spanish, history, religion, math, science, english, physical education, library and the list of community, family and friends go on and on. While private schools are extremely expensive I truly believe it is an investment in our children and an important part of their foundation as they grow into our future leaders, parents, & home-makers. I am very happy with EDS and their wonderful teachers, programs, & friends. EDS is a great place to watch our children grow.

EDS is a school where my child has thrived. She is so well loved by all of her teachers. She is challenged according to her own ability and is definitely taught and treated as an individual. The feeling of community is everywhere at EDS - from the staff to the teachers to the students to the parents. All are involved in creating the warm and caring atmosphere that is so evident. The school goes beyond the core academics (which are challenging) to include lots of 'specials' - from computer classes to art to music to Spanish to religion. There is a huge emphasis on community service and service projects - teaching the children to think of others. EDS is just a fabulous place - and I wouldn't want my child to be anywhere else!

Both of my children are having an excellent experience at EDS. The education is challenging, but they meet my different children on an individual basis. The setting is warm, loving, and family-like. The Episcopal context creates the values-based culture we want for our children without dictating our family beliefs. It is clear from the results that the school is getting the job done!
